P laintiff underwent oral surgery to re- move 14 teeth due to periodontal disease. Plaintiff had a pre-existing cardiac condition and prior to the procedure needed a cardiology evaluation to permit the use of general anesthetic. However, the
evaluation was not properly performed and the method of checking the plaintiff’s blood pressure during the oral surgery was insuf- ficient. The plaintiff suffered a cardiac event resulting in severe hypoxic brain damage and the need for 24-hour nursing care.
