T he case involved a tortious interference and defamation claim between local Atturo Tire based in Waukegan and mul- tinational Toyo Tire based in Japan. Toyo had initially alleged trade dress and design patent infringement, but Atturo was granted summary
judgment. Atturo then brought this counter- claim against Toyo for deceptive trade prac- tices and tortious business interference. The jury found in favor of Atturo, including tortious business interference, defamation and unjust enrichment.
