As a former state court judge, experienced prosecutor, and defense lawyer, Patricia Brown Holmes is renowned for her comprehensive trial experience and wisdom as a trusted adviser for clients. She focuses on high-stakes commercial disputes and trials; class actions; investigations and white-collar criminal defense; and crisis management counseling for blue-chip clients. Her expansive experience across all roles in the court- room enables her to provide sophisticated and valuable strategic coun- sel to clients, with foresight and discretion. She has received countless accolades for her impressive professional achievements as well as dedi- cation to diversity, inclusion, and equity in the legal profession.

Cecilia A. Horan is a judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County. She joined the bench in January 2017, and presently sits in the General Chancery Division. Prior to her judicial service, Judge Horan was a litigation partner at the 500-attorney law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, where she practiced for 20 years. As a lawyer and a judge, she has organized and presented numerous continuing legal education pro- grams on topics ranging from litigation strategy to the state of the law affecting women and minorities. Judge Horan is proud to be a member of the Chicago Lawyer Maga- zine Women’s Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the Illinois Judges Association, and co-chairs its Judicial Selection and Retention Committee. She is the vice president of the Alliance of Illinois Judges, an association of LGBTQ judges in the state and federal judiciary in Illi- nois. She is also the immediate-past president of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago, a bar organization for LGBTQ lawyers, law students and legal professionals. She continues to sit on the organiza- tion’s board of directors and is a co-chair of its Mentoring Committee.
