Jamie is a brilliant lawyer, a gifted writer and a natural problem solver.

N avigating the sometimes emotional field of family law takes an attorney who is not only well-versed in the law, but one who can also remain calm under pressure. That describes family law specialist Jamie Zider. As one nominee says, Zider always demonstrates a high level of professionalism while also fighting zealously for her clients' best interests. She's disciplined, too, arguing her cases in a straightforward, fact-based manner. "Jamie represents her clients well, even in high-conflict situ- ations that are intense and unpredictable," said one of her legal peers. "Her ability to navigate complex dynamics speaks to her legal skill and resilience." Zider represents clients in all areas of family law, includ- ing those with complex financial estates and those involved in high-conflict custody disputes. She also has extensive experi- ence negotiating comprehensive premarital and post-marital agreements. Andrew Engle, partner with the Chicago office of Davis Friedman, has handled several prenuptial agreements with Zider. Engle said that when negotiations between their clients reached a standstill, Zider always offered equitable solutions that ensured positive outcomes for all parties in a case.

"Jamie is a brilliant lawyer, a gifted writer and a natural prob- lem solver," Engle said. "She consistently applies analytical think- ing to create innovative solutions to difficult problems." While Zider prefers to resolve her cases through mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, she also boasts a proven track record of successfully litigating cases when this approach is needed. Another of Zider's peers, who has served as a mediator in several cases in which Zider was counsel, said that this young attorney is one of the rising stars in the Chicago-area family law arena. "Jamie conducts herself with the utmost professionalism, striking the right balance between being a zealous advocate for her clients while maintaining integrity and civility throughout the process," this attorney said. "Her ability to advocate effectively without compromising her professionalism sets her apart." Outside the courtroom, Zider gives back to her communi- ty through her involvement with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, organizing events between her firm and the museum, and volunteers at Gratitude Generation with her two young daughters to instill in them the importance of community and giving.
