E rvin Nevitt has earned a long list of million-dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients. It's why he's risen to the sta- tus of partner at the Oak Park office of Coplan & Crane at such a young age and how he's built a thriving career in a competitive industry. Nevitt has also won several legal victories while working on sexual assault cases. He's been an advocate, too, for victims fac- ing serious physical harm from the damaging chemicals found in hair relaxers. "He works in difficult areas, but doing the hard thing has nev- er been something he's afraid of," said Chicago attorney Lauren Buchanan. "Erv's gut instinct on everything -- literally everything -- is spot on, and it's because he cares and is continually pursuing the best outcomes for his clients. He was made to do this job. It's in his DNA." Marguerite Quinn, retired judge with the Cook County Cir- cuit Court and now working with ADR Systems, says that Nevitt has earned several notable victories for his clients. She pointed to a personal injury case involving a fatal shooting at a Chicago Housing Authority complex. This was a long and complicated trial. But Nevitt earned a million-dollar verdict for his client. The trial required testimony from witnesses who were un- cooperative. But when a witness was being difficult? Quinn said that Nevitt never lost sight of his objective.

He is a very skilled and effective lawyer. ”

"Through patient and careful questioning, he was able to elicit the evidence he was after," Quinn said. "Erv was a true advo- cate for his client while remaining professional and in control throughout the trial. He is a very skilled and effective lawyer and continues to be a rising star in the legal community." Nevitt also recently secured a significant award in a sexual abuse case, though information on this case remains confiden- tial. His work with sexual abuse cases has been so important that the state of Illinois named him Abuse Guardian last year. "Erv has made life-changing settlements and verdicts for his clients happen through his unparalleled presence with judges, juries and opposing counsel," said attorney Bhavani Raveendran with Chicago's Romannuci & Blandin. "He tenaciously seeks new avenues to challenge his opponents and ensure that any possi- ble strategy is explored. His work particularly on behalf of survi- vors of sexual abuse has been exceptional, as he treats each case with the individual care it requires."
