D uring her short career, Marisa Schostok has amassed a proven track record of successful results for her clients and has been recognized as a leader in the legal community. What's behind this success? Her peers point to Schostok's deep knowledge of the law, her fierce advocacy on behalf of her cli- ents and, just as importantly, her compassion. "It is her warmth and sincerity matched with a diligent work ethic, focused preparation and the highest levels of integrity that set her apart," said Illinois Supreme Court Justice, Elizabeth Rochford. "I was always impressed with her preparedness, atten- tion to detail, and the manner with which she dealt with clients and opposing counsel. Marisa is a model of professionalism and civility without sacrificing tenacity on behalf of her clients." Prior to joining Dudley & Lake, LLC, Schostok was a criminal prosecutor for the Lake County State’s Attorneys’ Office. Since joining her current firm, Schostok has achieved many notable re- sults, including $20 million for a 14-year-old girl who suffered a severe hypoxic brain injury while undergoing a CT scan in a com- munity hospital, $1.9 million for a 55-year-old man who suffered cardiac arrest and died due to improper sedation during a routine dental procedure, and $1.85 million for a 64-year-old woman who became quadriplegic and died shortly thereafter due to a neu- rologist’s failure to diagnose an acute spinal cord compression. With successes like this, it's not surprising that Schostok has earned several honors and awards, including the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Lake County Bar Association, the JVR Trial Lawyer Excellence Award for Highest Reported Lake County Settle- ment in 2022, and honors from Leading Lawyers and Super Lawyers.

Marisa is a model of professionalism and civility without sacrificing tenacity on behalf of her clients. ”

"Marisa is a tenacious advocate and prosecutes all varieties of personal injury cases," said attorney Kathryn Conway with Pow- er Rogers. "Marisa is a proven and natural leader." Schostok’s compassion and leadership extends beyond her practice. After her father, Michael Schostok, lost his battle with brain cancer, Schostok was the leader in establishing the Mi- chael Matters Foundation, which provides financial assistance to brain tumor patients during their battle with cancer. Schostok is also involved in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and was the chair of the ITLA Women's Caucus for 2023 – 2024, and co-chair from 2021-2023. Additionally, the Illinois Supreme Court has entrusted Schostok with membership on the Judicial Evaluation Commit- tee. As with every other task she takes on, Schostok has brought her drive, passion and dedication to this work. "Marisa is an effective advocate who brings her legal talent and her personal charisma to whatever she is doing," said a Il- linois Appellate Court Justice. "She is friendly, likable and help- ful, but also formidable, dogged and hard-working. She is a true professional and a great person with a big heart. In sum, Marisa is a winner."
