T his case was a medical malpractice ac- tion involving a plaintiff was being treated for meningitis. Allegedly, a continuous pulse oximetry monitoring was ordered but dis- continued, resulting in hypoxic injury. Defense
contended the plaintiff’s patient history was in- complete and that they would not have discon- tinued the monitoring had they known. There was also debate about who ordered the monitor- ing be discontinued.
