Lynch of Parente & Norem (Chicago, IL) On February 15, 2015, pltf M-22, a hostler driver at an intermodal yard, got his truck stuck in snow and ice while trying to park a trailer. He exited his truck to try to get his truck unstuck. A coworker “bumped” his truck into pltf’s trailer no knowing pltf had gotten out of his cab, and pushed the trailer into him, crushing him against another trailer, and causing his death. Confidential Railroad paid. The estate secured a waiver of the workers compensation lien. According to JVR records, this is the highest wrongful death settlement in a work injury mat- ter in Will County.
