L oren Legorreta, a plaintiff’s personal injury attorney, is no stranger to impressive results. Examples? He obtained a settlement of $10 million on behalf of a 63-year-old woman involved in a passenger vehicle collision in a con- struction zone, where a subcontractor’s commercial motor vehicle was parked too close to the intersection; a county-record verdict of almost $6 million in DeKalb County for a 29-year-old worker who fell from a bucket truck on a construction site; a $5 million settlement on behalf of the estate of a 48-year-old man who was crushed by a commercial motor vehicle while loading the truck with product; a $3.7 million on behalf of a 77-year-old woman whose vehicle was struck by a com- mercial motor vehicle in a construction zone; and a $1.5 million settle- ment for a 58-year-old man whose vehicle was struck by a commercial motor vehicle. Legorreta remains busy, too. With over 100 verdicts and/or settle- ments to his name, his peers on both sides of the aisle point to the large caseload he takes on, and marvel at the fact that he delivers such winning results to his clients despite the long hours he logs. “He works harder than any other attorney I know,” said Nathaniel Wallace, a former Loyola Law classmate and attorney with Chicago’s Cooney & Conway. “If I call him at 9 or 10 at night, I expect to find him at work. He’s never off.” Loren’s hard work, a constant theme in his nominations, has result- ed in the recovery of over $50 million dollars on behalf of his clients — all in his first 6 years of practice.
